New 5k parkrun to start in Newcastle West in Limerick in Apr 2016

It was recently announced that a new 5km parkrun will be starting in Newcastle West in Co.Limerick on Saturday the 23rd of April 2016. This will be the second parkrun in Limerick and the 13th in Munster.

Another recent addition was the Vandeleur parkrun in Kilrush, Co.Clare which started on the 5th of March 2016.

As you can see from the map above, it shows a curious pattern with the parkruns scattered to the west and the east but hardly any in the centre. There are 5 in Co.Cork...Macroom, Clonakilty, Glengarriff, Castlehaven and Bere Island.

The 6th would be of course the one in Tramore Valley Park in Cork City but that is in no mans land at the moment.

The new parkrun in Newcastle West will be held in the Demense at the western edge of the town.

To take part in any 5k parkrun, just go to the website  http://www.parkrun.ie/ and register. Print out your unique bar code and bring that to every event. They all start at 9:30am on a Saturday morning.
