Notice...Eyeries 5 mile road race, West Cork - Sat 7th Nov 2015

This is the second year of the Eyeries 5 mile road race and follows on the success of last year. The Beara Peninsula in West Cork is one of the most scenic parts of the country and an ideal backdrop for this road race. It might well suit any clubs or small groups who are looking for a weekend away.

On a nice sunny day, it's an absolutely stunning spot. The town of Castletownbere is only 4.5 miles away so there is plenty of accommodation on offer.

From the organisers.....Eyeries, on the Beara Peninsula, will host its Second Annual five mile road race on Saturday 7th November 2015. The race will start at 2:30pm. Following a highly successful inaugural Race in 2014, this is the second running of this event and the organisers are hoping for an even better turn out than last year. The entry fee for the race is €10 (if registering online and by 6 November 2015) or €12 on the day. All proceeds are in aid of Eyeries Community Development Ltd and St Patricks Athletic Training Centre, Iten, Kenya.

Eyeries Hall is the race HQ where registration and collection of race numbers will take place as well as post-race refreshments and prizes.  Parking will be available within walking distance near the village.

The committee have engaged with Bantry AC and Athletics Association of Ireland to organise this race. The course has been measured and certified to AAI & IAAF standards and the AAI Race Permit has been granted. It is open to all levels of runners and walkers.

Please support this worthwhile event.

In November, this stunning part of West Cork can be very quiet and I'm sure they would appreciate all the support that they can get.
