From the organisers : The LeisureWorld BHAA 5mile Road Race, held in Ballincollig is taking place on Wednesday 20th August 2014. Refreshments will be available to all runners after.

Special deal for parents looking to run : Supernova are also extending their open hours to provide a ‘Drop & Run’ service for parents of children aged 4yrs-12yrs. For €5 you can drop a child into supernova where they will take part in supervised play, available from 6.00pm-9.00pm. All enquiries should be directed to Supernova 021 4826905.

Volunteers Wanted : As with all races, the event runs smoothly & safely thanks to all the volunteers. A 5mile route requires additional volunteers, so we would welcome any runners not running that night, or friends & family to assist if possible. Even spectators can still enjoy the event but help out.
As an extra incentive, anyone who can commit to helping from 6.30pm-8.30pm, we will give you complimentary entry to the Rebel Run 10km Road race on 19th October. (www.rebelrun.ie)
Anyone wishing to volunteer and avail of this must contact in advance: shane AT leisureworldcork DOT com
We will welcome volunteers on the night but please let us know in advance where possible.

NO HEADPHONES : As with all road races where roads are still open to traffic, the use of headphones is both a danger to the individuals, but also other runners & marshals.
Whilst we appreciate some people enjoy the motivation from music, for safety we will be enforcing a strict no headphone policy. There will be spotters on the course and anyone seen wearing headphones, numbers will be recorded and results withheld, with the reason for this listed next to runners names.
