Updated...5th July...The full results of the Cork BHAA Daniel Kingston 5k road race are now available HERE

In total, 142 runners are listed so I presume that a good few are missing as there must have been a lot more than that there on the night???

For photos, see an earlier post.

These are the registered members results, is it likely they will post the non-registered members ??

There was about 500 runners at this race!!!!!!

If they are not going to bother posting the results for races it will not make me join BHAA - I just won't do any more of those races.

These results are a mess. It's a farce that a full list of runners and times cannot be produced. There were hundreds of people at this race. Of the races I have done this year the BHAA are by far the worst organised.

You know what the answer from the BHAA will be, if you don't like it why don't you volunteer? The way their runs are going they won't need extra volunteers! I will always do the Daniel Kingston Memorial Run because I had the honour of calling him my friend. Through his familys' fund raising I got the running bug and will always support Arc Cancer Support but the BHAA are taking liberties with peoples' time and effort in completing these runs.

i think next race is wed 4th july not 1st as they say at end of macroom results, or have they changed the race to the 1st?

There was actually over 700 runners on the night.

There was 740 doing the race.

Times seem to be off by about 20 seconds.

I agree. I will do the Daniel Kingston run anyway. But suggest they would be much better off not being associated with BHAA.

Surely they are gonna come out with the full results at a later date? if not it's an absolute joke!! Some people running may not be working and can't join the BHAA if they wanted to!

The BHAA never turned away a person for whom is Unemployed or whom works in unpaid caring role. At least they would have the persons surname as there employer.

The numbers has increased massively but the volunteers have not.

Yes everybody whom competed should have had there finishing place at least recorded. Even if it took an extra week for the results to come out.

One of the highlights for me is finding out where I came. I pay more cause I'm not registered yet they won't even make a full results list. I'll be taking 3 times more sandwiches next time. Shame on you bhaa!

They didn't have a clue what they were doing when people crossed the line, not surprised results are missing.

To be fair to the BHAA they have coped well with a huge increase in numbers in the past few years. They put on great value races that are well organised. Want your time? Take a look at the clock when you cross the line or wear a watch. These guys are people who love athletics and volunteer their time for free to put on these events. Shame there are not more like them.

Think the broadband must be much better in west cork!!! I ran the Dunmanway race and thought it was excellent apart from the rain, did the the Macroom 5k last Thursday and still waiting for a result, got my time from Dunmanway in less than 8 hours. I'am new to running and I am not too impressed with the BHAA, I don't know much about them, but I think someone in their leadership needs to get a grip of things and take the bull by the horns, and sort out this mess. Macroom, was a good fast race and perfect weather and good turnout. Why why why turn off people from running there again. Donal

"To be fair to the BHAA they have coped well with a huge increase in numbers in the past few years. They put on great value races that are well organised." !!!!!!!!!

The usual blinkered view from the BHAA hangers-on.
How many more ways does it have to be said before the BHAA get it ?

Dunmanway, Bandon, Doneraile the list is endless..........great races very well organised and results out very fast. All of those people are also volunteers. Why did I pay €8 for a race in Macroom that I could have tun around without paying anything ans just ran under the clock. (Would have given the money to the charity anyway)

"Want your time? Take a look at the clock when you cross the line or wear a watch." The clock was wrong and I don't like to wear a watch when running. I take part in organised runs to get an official time, not to be condescended to by BHAA members who got their time and won't do anything but pick holes in any feedback given.

And so say all of us! They should really look into a barcode system. Pen to paper is outdated and slow.

Have a Read of the article in the Irish times with regard to BHAA in Dublin. BHAA in Cork should increase fee by €2 and go down the road of chip timing. Clear the finish line Q faster and Quicker results. Chip timing is not 100% but it is required for large numbers

"Pen to paper is outdated and slow."
I disagree - if it's done right it will be ok, but the BHAA insist on taking down names and categories also. This is a big part of the problem with the queues.

The Cork BHAA as an organisation are not short of money as anyone who attended their AGM will confirm. They would be well able to afford a proper timing system!!

Cut the BHAA some slack folks. Their variety of races is superb, from 5k to 15 miles to cross country to turkey trot. With so many races it's difficult to get it right all of the time.I believe most other races are more expensive than BHAA. Cork to Cobh 15 mile BHAA race is €10 entry, inc. a goody bag & tee shirt. Many races of shorter length and NO goody bag or tee shirt are a lot dearer than €10.

Problem is that the ques build too quickly for their little hands to compete with. Seen it too many times. People have a 5-10 minute wait after crossing the line. Or in the case of a recent John Buckley 5k, queuing before they cross the finish line! We live in a digital age and it's time the BHAA embraced it and used it to their advantage.

Given the choice between a clock that shows the right time and having my name on the results sheet - or a goody bag and t-shirt, I'll take the former everytime, and gladly pay for it.

Must say that I have run the majority of the BHAA races over the last 5 years and have yet to see the clock not working. I have always got my time too, albeit a week after the event.
