I'll second the previous post. Nice race and there I was thinking that at the start we would have to run UP the hill at the start line. Phew.....

Clock out about 45-50 seconds from feedback I've received.

To the person who made the smart remark about the BHAA above; instead of criticizing, why don't you offer your services and help out at a BHAA race? Maybe then you'll see what's involved and understand how dedicated the volunteers are. These lads are at the race venue setting up long before the runners arrive and packing away after the race whilst the runners are enjoying the food or on their way home.

Just remember, none of them receive any payment, or thanks, for what they do. Try and remember that the next time you attempt to be clever by making such remarks.

I wasn't attempting to be clever - I'm just fed up with people praising the BHAA and completely ignoring their shortcoming i.e. race queues, archaic method of taking names and numbers after the race, slowness of results, etc. Only somebody associated with the people in the BHAA would say they have excelled.
As regards offering my services, I said in a previous post (after the marina race) that I would definitely help out in some of the races if a call came out from the BHAA asking for volunteers. But they don't ask, they don't seem to want anybody else invading their turf. So, instead of making smart remarks about people criticising the BHAA, why don't YOU volunteer some of YOUR time and coordinate with the BHAA on getting more volunteers to help out ? That's after they fix the other problems of course.

Nobody is disputing that they are volunteers but give me a break, it's not an all consuming job. Try training an underage GAA team for a year and you'll know what commitment is.

The clock was off? Oh no! I was thrilled to think I had a new personal best :( While the q was long, there were quite a few rude people who were skipping between lines, cutting ahead of people, and arguing with the stewards. I've never seen such carry on and we were waiting less than two minutes at that stage.

PS Well done again to the Kingston family. Great food afterwards, lovely course and a worthwhile cause.

Regarding comment no. 10 quote "i.e. race queues, archaic method of taking names and numbers after the race, slowness of results, etc.", I participated in this race, I queued at the non-registered desk, I gave my name and got my number all done in LESS THAN A MINUTE - What's so long and archaic about that ? Regarding the taking of names and numbers after the race, again I finished in a time of 22.?? group, and it took no length of time at all, I would say at most 30 seconds, this certainly would not be an issue for me. Yes, i agree the results are too slow being posted and it would be helpful if more people were brought on board to process the results, still I am not a member and have never attended a meeting so maybe volunteers are hard to find. Enjoyed the race and pre/post race, good location, and will do it again.

"it would be helpful if more people were brought on board to process the results"
This is not the issue, there is software available to make this an easy enough job.
