Preview of the Banteer 5k....Sun 19th July, 2009This is a brand new race on the race calendar and takes place in the village of Banteer at 3:30pm. I presume that the course is much the same as the one used for the County Roads Championships a few years back? If that's the case then the route is pretty flat and it should be a course for fast times.
Getting there........If you are west of Cork City, then the best route is probably to take the R579 road for Kanturk from the Ballincollig bypass and go out past the Anglers Rest. See the earlier post for directions for Donoughmore....it's the same road.
Otherwise, the best route is to take the N20 up to Mallow and at the roundabout, take the N72 west for Killarney. The turnoff for Banteer is a few kms out this road.
